U.S. News ranks 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ online programs 
The University of North Georgia (91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ) earned high marks on multiple lists when U.S. News & World Report released its rankings Feb. 6.
91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ ranked fourth among public universities in Georgia on the 2024 list.
The University of Georgia, University of West Georgia and Kennesaw State University ranked ahead of 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ, with 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ ahead of Georgia State University, Columbus State University and Middle Georgia State University.
91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ also ranked fourth among public universities in Georgia on the list. The university was tabbed seventh among Georgia public universities on the list. 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ was eighth among Georgia public universities on the list.
U.S. News compiled the rankings based on engagement, expert opinion, services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, student excellence, and peer assessment.
"We are pleased to receive this recognition," Dr. Chaudron Gille, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs, said. "91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ has strategically invested in developing quality online degree programs in order to provide opportunities for working adults and learners who are place bound or need flexibility in their schedule to advance their educational and career goals."
These rankings come on the heels of 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ tying for 17th among public Regional Universities in the South in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings released Sept. 18. In more specialized lists for public Regional Universities in the South, among Georgia universities, 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ was No. 1 on the list of Best Colleges for Veterans; No. 1 for Least Debt, which measures schools whose students graduated carrying the lightest debt loads; and No. 3 on the Best Value Colleges list.
One of the state's largest universities, 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ serves more than 18,000 students across its five campuses in Blue Ridge, Cumming, Dahlonega, Gainesville, and Oconee County, and online. 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ offers more than 100 programs of study, including certificates, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral programs.
Next Fest gives taste of 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ programs
91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ will host Next Fest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 29 at 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ's Gainesville Campus. It can best be described as an academic festival and community open house.
About 240 FROGS set to begin cadet life
About 240 freshmen began their time as 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ cadets Aug. 2-8 during FROG Week, which was led by cadet brigade commander Grace McGill and her team.
Special education degree launches
The 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ College of Education is launching a Bachelor of Science in Education in special education this fall in collaboration with four other University System of Georgia schools.
Students earn awards at literary festival
