A book published by the University of North Georgia (91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ) Press earned the second-place grand prize for non-fiction in the 2025 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. "Cherokee History and the Spirit Family" by James Barnes received this honor from the world's largest awards program for independent publishers, the Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group.
